For either my 9th or 10th time seeing the guy, I can’t remember which, a solid setlist. I felt like there was more off of “Put Your Ghost to Rest” than usual, but after looking over it again, the last few albums were pretty well covered. “Carnival” live is still insane.
Also picked up the Brian Bonz full-length, get your hands on that if you can!
Yr Damned Old Dad
Time to Burn (Another Bag of Bones)
No Time Flat
You’re Trailing Yourself
Go Haunt Someone Else
Hand of God

Keep Ringing Your Bell
The Burning City Smoke
Lord, I Know We Don’t Talk
You Are the Daybreak
Thanks so much to Brian, Mike, and EJ of the Dot Hongs for stopping by and hanging out. Be sure to check them out on tour this spring with Kevin Devine and Miniature Tigers, I know for damn sure I’ll be at the Hartford show.

My next two weeks or so in shows:
3/4/09 – Brian Bonz, The Low Anthem, October Rain, A Paper Tugboat – The Space – Hamden, CT
3/5/09 – Brand New – URI – Kingston, RI
3/6/09 – Brand New, Mewithoutyou – Webster Theater – Hartford, CT
3/9/09 – Cursive – Music Hall of Williamsburg – Brooklyn, NYC
Brand New and Cursive are my two favorite bands ever and I’m seeing them both within five days of each other. If I were in high school and hadn’t seen either yet I’d be bouncing off the fucking walls, now I’m merely just really goddamned excited. Moreso for Cursive; Mama, I’m Swollen is pretty awesome.
Thanks to the good folks at Manic Productions, Brooklyn singer-songwriter Brian Bonz is playing next week at The Space in Hamden, CT. Opening bands are Rhode Island’s The Low Anthem, as well as fucking awesome dudes in A Paper Tugboat and some kids I went to high school with in October Rain (who are really great as well!). Doors are at 7PM and the show is $10.
While that rules by itself, I was able to get Bonz to stop by the WQAQ studio beforehand from 6:30-7:30PM to hang out and play a few songs on my show. I’m going to be recording the whole thing, but you can listen live in Hamden and Cheshire on 98.1FM or online at WQAQ.com.
UPDATE: I made a flier!
